This trail running experience starts on the 3rd highest peak of Madeira - Pico Areeiro (1818m) crosses by some steep trails and lots of steps through the scenic central mountain range of the island, crossing Pico das Torres (2nd highest - 1851m) by tunnels, and climbing to the top of the island - Pico Ruivo (1862m). The way back is made my the same trail, but always with new and unexpected views. The track is a 12km long and about 1.000m elevation gain/loss.
